Most Nurses are Stressed Out

In a white paper published by WellSky, a survey of 1,200 participants found that stress and burnout are taking a real toll on nurses and other caregivers. Here are some findings:

• 44% of those who said that they have needed mental health support named staffing shortages as the top job challenge.

• 46% said financial compensation also played a role in mental health challenges.

• 83% said healthcare workers shoulder an unfair burden for the problems facing today's healthcare system.

• 69% believe artificial intelligence would be valuable to their job

WellSky Chief Clinical Officer Tim Ashe said in a press release, "Expanding access to mental health resources, reducing administrative strain and adopting helpful technologies such as AI can ligthen the load on caregivers and promote a healthier, more resilient environment for those who dedicate their careers to care for others." The research report was conducted by The Center for Generational Kinetics in partnership with WellSky.
