Altarum recently published its labor brief. In its February 2025 report, it stated that in January 2025, the health care industry added 43,700 new jobs. This increase, however, is nearly 30% less than the jobs added in January 2024 (62,400) but still robust. The Home Healthcare Services subsegment added 10,600 jobs in January 2025 while the Other Nursing and Residential Care Homes subsegment (which included assisted living facilities) added 6,100 positions. Nonetheless, since February 2020, employment in the healthcare sector continues to outpace employment growth in non-healthcare industries.
