The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Thursday ended the 6-month moratorium on new enrollments for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) providers. With the moratorium lifted, established suppliers can move forward as they prepare for the next round of competitive bidding under the new remote item delivery requirements. CMS placed the 6-month moratorium on DMEPOS providers on February 27 to curb fraud in the sector.
